FROM HEATHER

I still get in the water afraid.

That hasn't changed — not after Built for This, not after a hundred-plus dives, not after twenty years doing work I once hid from behind someone else's title.

What changed is this: fear doesn't get the final vote anymore.

Built for This gave us the foundation. We know we're not an accident. We know God prepared good works for us in advance. But I kept having the same conversation, over and over, with women in completely different seasons of life: "I believe all of that now — so why do I still feel stuck?"

That question is the reason FREE exists. Not new information. A place to actually practice living unchained from what's still got a grip on you.

"The door is already open. FREE is fourteen weeks of choosing to walk through it."

WHAT THIS IS

Five seasons. One walk toward freedom.

FREE is a free 14-week live Bible study and prayer time — the next chapter after Built for This. We move through it together, season by season:

Season 1 · FOUNDATION OF FREEDOM

The ground we're standing on before we walk anywhere.

Season 3 · UNCHAINED FROM SHAME

Walking out of what knowing the truth hasn't erased yet.

Season 5 · WALK IN FREEDOM

Living like you believe it, not just quoting it.

Season 2· UNCHAINED FROM FEAR

Naming what's still making decisions that belong to God.

Season 4 · UNCHAINED FROM COMPARISON

Running your own lane, without measuring it against hers.

Each week is a short teaching — personal, Scripture-based, with a story woven through — a prayer written specifically for that week, and time where Heather prays live over the prayer requests submitted ahead of time.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for you if...

  •  You already know the truth about who God says you are — and you're tired of not living like it's true

  • You can name the fear, the shame, or the comparison that's still running the show, even after doing the deep work.

  • You did Built for This, or a season just like it, and you're not finished walking it out.

  • You want fifteen to twenty minutes, live, on a Wednesday morning — not another workbook to fall behind on.

  • You want someone to actually pray over what you're carrying, not just talk at you about it.

HOW IT WORKS

One Wednesday

at a time.

No pressure to get it "right." Just five small steps, repeated daily, that quietly build something over two weeks.

Step 1: Show up or Watch the replay

Join live in the Built for This Facebook Group, Wednesdays at 7 AM CT. If you can't make the live, catch the replay in the Facebook Group.

Step 2: Listen

A short teaching — personal, Scripture-based, and honest about the parts that are still hard.

Step 3: Submit Your Prayer Requests

Send it in before that week's session — Prayer Request Form

— anonymously, or with your name if you want Heather to pray over you by name, live.

Step 4: Pray

Every week closes in prayer, over what's actually true for you that week — not the polished version.

WEEK 1 · FOUNDATION OF FREEDOM

The Door to the Deep End

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36

Watch Week 1 · About 17 minutes

Every journey starts with the ground you're standing on.

Jesus has already opened the door. Why so many of us are still standing in the shallow end, and the first step toward going deeper. John 8:36

This week's question

Where in your life have you been living in the shallow end?

You don't have to share your answer. Just sit with it and be honest with yourself. If you'd like to share, you're welcome to in the [Facebook group].

Let us pray for you

God cares about the details of your life, the small ones and the big ones. Send in a prayer request before next Wednesday's session, anonymously or with your name if you'd like Heather to pray over you by name.

As Heather says, prayer looks like "a conversation that you're having with your best friend, and he just happens to be Jesus." There's no perfect way to do it.

WEEK 2 · FOUNDATION OF FREEDOM

Freedom Doesn't Feel Like You Think It Will.

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Watch Week 2 · Live session replay

Last week we asked where you've been living in the shallow end.

This week Heather asks the harder question: what if you've already stepped out, and it still doesn't feel like freedom? What she expected to feel — confidence, certainty, no more fear — never came. What showed up instead was something quieter: peace. Not the absence of the hard thing, but the presence of God in the middle of it.

This week's question
Where in your life do you already have more freedom than you're giving yourself credit for?
Something may have shifted, even slightly, that you haven't stopped to acknowledge yet. Write it down. Say it out loud. If you'd like to share, you're welcome to in the Facebook group.

Let us pray for you
There's no prayer too big or too small. God cares about the details of your life. Send in a prayer request before next Wednesday's session, anonymously or with your name if you'd like Heather to pray over you by name.

WEEK 3 · THE FEAR PILLAR
Fear Has More Than One Address.

"I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4

Watch Week 3 · Live session replay

Last week we learned that freedom isn't the absence of the hard thing, it's the presence of God in the middle of it.

This week Heather goes looking for what's actually standing in the way of that freedom. In Built for This, she named her root fear, the fear of being seen. But she's learned that fear doesn't stop at one address. It moves. It finds new disguises, ones that can look like professionalism, like love, like a servant heart, while fear is still the one running the show.

This week's question
What is one habit or pattern in your life that might be fear's second address?
Something you've never questioned, always just called "personality" or "how I am." You don't have to share it out loud. Just sit with it, be honest with yourself and with God, and ask Him to show you where it's showing up.

Let us pray for you
There's no prayer too big or too small. God cares about the details of your life. Send in a prayer request before next Wednesday's session, anonymously or with your name if you'd like Heather to pray over you by name.

WEEK 4 · THE FEAR PILLAR
Four Lies Fear Tells You

"The Spirit you received does not make you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'" Romans 8:15

Watch Week 4 · Live session replay

Fear isn't just a feeling. It's a voice, and it's convincing.

Four lies fear tells, and why none of them are true. Readiness is a myth. It's never too late. And you are not too much or not enough, you're exactly who God made you to be. Romans 8:15

This week's question
Which lie has fear been telling you the longest?
Pick the one that catches you in your body. Write it down, and underneath it, write what God actually says about it instead.

Let us pray for you
God cares about the details of your life, the small ones and the big ones. Send in a prayer request before next Wednesday's session, anonymously or with your name if you'd like Heather to pray over you by name. If you'd rather she pray for you privately, just say so, it won't be shared live.

WEEK 5 · THE FEAR PILLAR
When Fear Comes Back

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:1-2

Watch Week 5 · Live session replay

Fear doesn’t ask permission before it comes back.

Naming a fear once doesn’t make it disappear for good. Four steps for what to do the next time it shows back up, and why its return might mean you’re closer to something important, not further from it. Isaiah 43:1-2

This week’s question
When fear came back this week, what did you do with it? Did you treat it like a stop sign, or recognize it as a signal that something important is happening?

ABOUT HEATHER

Meet Heather Walraven

Heather is a financial advisor of 20 years, an author, and a speaker — and, by her own account, a work in progress. She's been married to her best friend for 23 years, raised three daughters, and recently became a grandmother.

She's cared for someone she loved through dementia, walked alongside her kids through some of the hardest things a parent can witness, and come to the edge of her marriage and found her way back.

And she nearly drowned at age five — then became a certified scuba diver anyway. Not because the fear left, but because she decided the things waiting on the other side of it were too beautiful to miss.

For two decades, Heather has sat across the table from women navigating fear, money, and the lives they want to build. Built for This brings that same conversation to you — fear, faith, and purpose, as lived things.

"You don't have to feel ready to move forward."

Heather Walraven — Author · Speaker · Financial Advisor
